Welcome to Lesson 3 of the Advanced Microsoft Outlook Tutorial. In this lesson we will cover Customizing Views. I hope you enjoy the lesson.
Step 1: Define Views
On the View menu, click on Arrange By, then click on Current View, and then click on Define Views.
Step 2: New View
Click on New. In the Name of new view box type in a name.
Step 3: View Type
In the type of view box select the view type that you want. You can select from Table, Timeline, Card, Day/Week/Month, or Icon. This determines how information will be arranged and formatted in your new view.
Step 4: Select Availability
Select where you want the view to be available from in the Can be used on area. You can make it visible for a single folder for you or everyone, or for all mail. When done click on ok.
Step 5: Customize View
In the Customize View dialog box select the option that you want to use. You can change what fields are displayed, grouping, sorting, any filers and other settings.
Step 6: Finish
When you are done click ok. If you want to use the view immediately, click Apply View.
