Welcome to Lesson 6 of the Basic Microsoft Outlook Tutorial. In this lesson we will cover Sorting E-mail. I hope you enjoy the lesson.
Step 1: Select Folder
Select the e-mail folder that you want to sort.
Step 2: Arrange By
At the top of the e-mail list there will be a line that says “Arranged By: “. Click on this box and you will be presented with a list of various options in which to sort your e-mail by. Click on the method that you want to use to sort your e-mail.
Step 3: Sorting Options
Next to the Arranged By box is an ascending descending box. This is used to control whether the e-mail is sorted ascending or descending. For example, if you sort by date this box will control whether the newest date is on top or the oldest date is on top. For subject it selects A on top or Z on top.
Step 4: Show in Groups
If you click the “Arranged By: “ box again, at the bottom there is an option to show in groups. Selecting this option groups your e-mail by the arrangement option. So if you sort by date it groups the e-mails by date.
