Welcome to Lesson 2 of the Advanced Microsoft Word Tutorial. In this lesson we will cover the document map. I hope you enjoy the lesson.
The Document Map
Step 1: Intro

When using a document’s headings as navigation points, the Document Map splits the screen so you can see your document on the right and any headings on the left. You can quickly jump to a location in the document by clicking on a heading instead of scrolling and looking through the text.
Step 2: Open a Document

Open a document that has heading styles and click on the Document Map icon on the standard toolbar or choose View and select Document Map.
Step 3: Screen Splits

The screen splits to display the headings in the left and the document text on the right.
Step 4: Jump

Click on any heading on the left and you will be moved to the corresponding section in the text.
