Welcome to Lesson 5 of the Basic Microsoft Word Tutorial. In this lesson we will cover saving your work and closing. I hope you enjoy the lesson.

Saving Your Work and Closing

Step 1: Saving For the First Time

Click the Save button on the toolbar. Click the pop-up menu that appears and select the folder where you want to save the file. Enter a name for the file and then click Save.

Step 2: Save with a New File Name

Click the File menu and select Save As. Enter a new name in the Save dialog box. Click Save.

Step 3: Save in a New Place

Click the File menu and select Save As. Click the pop-up menu and then select the folder where you want to save the file. Click Save.

Step 4: Save a File in a New Format

Click the File menu and select Save As. Click the Save File As Type drop down list and select the file type you want. Click Save.

Step 5: Close Using the File Menu

Click the File menu and then select Close.

Step 6: Using the Close Box

Click the Close box on the title bar.

Step 7: Save and Close

Click the File menu and then select Save. Save the file and then close it.

Step 8: Exit

Click the File menu and select Exit.
